| Summary: A left handed hitting middle infielder is always a good profile, so it is no surprise the Baron Rouge native is committed to hometown LSU. Ruckert has an explosive swing that really allows him to do damage without it coming at the expense of his ability to make contact. He was once a guy who really expanded the zone, but has gotten significantly better on that front of late and is making much better swing decisions. When he does pull the trigger, the bat path can get a bit long, leaving him susceptible to velo, but he has also shown the ability to adapt and be teachable so it is not a massive concern. He is a smooth defender with solid range in the dirt, although the fringy arm could leave him destined for second rather than short. | |||||||||||
