Summary:
Arm strength is the calling card here, and Brown shows it from a tough, low three-quarters slot that gives hitters a different look. The fastball comes out heavy with real arm-side run, sitting in the low-to-mid 90s and touching higher when he’s amped, and it plays up because of the angle and late movement. Both secondaries track well off the heater: a bending slider with two-plane shape and a running changeup that mirrors the fastball’s action and gives him a weapon against left-handed bats.

The delivery is aggressive and momentum-driven, built to generate velocity with tempo and intent. There’s still some refinement needed in strike consistency and pitch-to-pitch execution, but the ingredients for a starter are there—arm speed, shape separation, and the ability to create uncomfortable at-bats without needing perfect location. The changeup, in particular, flashes as a real separator when he maintains feel, while the slider shows enough depth to miss barrels rather than just steal strikes.

Overall projection leans on how much polish comes with reps, but the raw foundation is loud. With continued development of command and a bit more consistency finishing pitches, Brown has the look of a high-upside prep arm whose stuff should continue to trend as the body and delivery mature. The combination of angle, life, and secondary feel gives him a chance to rise quickly within the 2026 class if the strike throwing tightens.
