Summary:
The lefthander shows an athletic look on the mound with a repeatable delivery and a deep, shape-driven mix that gives him multiple ways to attack hitters. Selvidge’s best weapon remains a sweeping low-80s slider that consistently draws chase and misses bats, complemented by an upper-80s cutter he’s comfortable landing for strikes or expanding late. The changeup shows real fade and separation when he stays on top of it, and a recently added curveball gives him a true north–south look that rounds out the arsenal. He hides the ball well from an extreme third-base-side setup, and the overall feel for manipulating breaking-ball shapes stands out.

Fastball life and execution remain the swing points. Velocity dipped into the 91–94 range coming off injury, and limited extension causes the heater to play down when location isn’t precise, especially at the top of the zone. When the fastball command wavers, the profile leans heavily on secondaries to carry innings. The athleticism and delivery suggest average command is still attainable, but health and fastball quality will determine whether he settles into a back-half rotation role or ultimately finds his best fit as a high-floor left-handed leverage arm where the slider/cutter combination could play up in shorter stints.
