| Summary: A lean, projectable right-hander whose stock has moved quickly on the strength of fastball traits and athleticism. Etheridge works from a lower slot with a loose, efficient arm action, creating late ride and a flat approach that makes the heater difficult to square. The fastball has climbed into the low-to-mid 90s and consistently plays above the radar gun, overwhelming hitters when he gets it to the top of the zone. The delivery is athletic and repeatable for his age, and he shows confidence attacking hitters rather than nibbling, giving the profile early starter indicators as strength continues to come. The changeup is already a legitimate weapon, thrown with conviction in the low-80s and showing late tumble and fade with real spin kill. That pitch does most of the damage against both sides and separates him from typical fastball-only prep arms. The breaking ball mix is still in progress, with two shapes flashing but blending at times and lacking consistent bite; sharpening one clear breaking look will be the next step for the arsenal to fully round out. With the arm speed, movement traits, and athletic base in place, Etheridge projects as a moldable, high-upside starter whose ceiling will rise quickly if the breaker tightens and the delivery continues to hold as he matures. | |||||||||||
