Summary:
Shouse is a high-end athlete whose defensive value already stands out. He’s an easy, fluid mover in the outfield with natural range, good reads, and routes that play beyond his age. The arm is a real asset — strong, accurate, and impactful — giving him legitimate center-field value and the versatility to handle other spots when needed. His athleticism translates cleanly on the defensive side and provides a strong foundation for the overall profile.

Offensively, the tools are more projection than polish at this stage. There’s real right-handed bat speed and strength in the swing, with flashes of loud contact, but consistency and approach are still developing. Physical upside remains significant, and as the body matures, more impact should surface without costing him mobility. It’s a ceiling-driven athlete with defensive certainty and an offensive profile that will be defined by how the bat comes along over the next few years.

On the bump he is into the low 90s from the left side with a slider and changeup. He fires out of a 3/4 slot with a shorter arm stroke and some effort at times. The current profile favors him as a position player long term, but there is plenty of upside on the mound still so there is a chance that develops into an option teams like better over the next couple years.
