2026 MLB Draft: Sawyer Strosnider, OF, TCU

Player: Sawyer Strosnider
School: TCUPosition(s): OF
Height: 6’2″Weight: 200 lbs.Bats: LeftThrows: Left
Summary:
After an electric freshman campaign with the Horned Frogs, Strosnider has picked up where he left off early in the 2026 season. The draft eligible sophomore continues to climb the rankings and should firmly find himself in the 1st round this July.

At the plate, the raw power jumps off the page with Strosnider. He displays plus pull side power but has shown the ability to consistently create hard contact the other way. The swing demonstrates his athleticism, starting with a small coil of the hips and a minimal leg lift as he loads into launch position. His hands stay quiet throughout and explode as his hips unleash the torque he creates. Chase has been a concern for Strosnider, though he has shown more patience early on in 2026. The lefty has nearly reached his base on ball total in 25′ early in the 2026 season. He has also shown a better approach to breaking balls, especially from LHP’s.

Seeing more time in CF this spring for TCU, Strosnider has the tools to land there at the next level, however time will tell as he continues to mature physically. He’s an instinctual outfielder with the ability to run down balls in the gap, showing plus speed with a strong arm to compliment.

There is additional room for strength on his frame, adding to the already high ceiling for his power potential. A pivotal piece for a Horned Frogs team with high hopes this spring, Strosnider has tools and potential to be a 30-30 player at the next level.
