| Summary: Kiel’s dad played safety in the NFL, and the younger Kiel had some offers to play college football himself, but he chose baseball as he has much more upside on the diamond. He is a ridiculous athlete with double plus run times that plays really well in center field and allows him to steal bags with ease. The arm is fringy, but is certainly enough to be a solid tool in center. At the plate there is still a lot of work to be done as he is pretty raw. He has been a switch hitter in the past, but is much better from the right side of the plate than the left side so there is a real question as to whether or not he will continue hitting from both sides. There is solid bat speed, although it is more gap power than over the fence power, and that is likely to continue to be the case as I don’t project more than mid-teens home run upside here. | |||||||||||
