| Summary: The bat to ball skills here are elite, but the defensive limitations and lack of game power do leave real questions to the potential value here. Let’s begin with the plus, the hit tool. Pure contact rates could easily be a double plus grade, and I flirted with giving him a 65 here, but it’s an easy plus tool. It is a slightly open and upright stance with a compact direct bath path, but it is really hit over power. He has shown plenty of gap power thus far and the raw power is there, but he really projects to be low teens in home runs currently. He is not fleet of foot, and the arm is fringy, meaning his defensive position is limited to first base, meaning that bat will have to be the carrying tool. | |||||||||||
