| Summary: The freshman in the heart of one of the best lineups in the country, he opened the year striking out too often, but flashed his real power potential at the same time. Despite the early swing and miss concerns, overall the bat-to-ball skills are impressive and there is potential for him to develop into a plus hit tool. He really closes his hips in his load, allowing him to fire and generate that power, that also has plus upside. The sets up in a slightly crouched, open setup from both sides of the dish, while his swing from the left side is more polished, on the right side it is a bit cleaner and more fluid. Defensively he has played a few positions and seen plenty of time at DH, but his future home is likely third base where his time playing short as a prepster helps his hands play well and he has more than enough arm for the position. | |||||||||||
