| Summary: Porter is one of the oldest high school prospects in the class, but he has plenty of tools that teams like. He is a really good pure hitter despite the fact he has a busy head and hands at the plate. The load is hitchy but he gets the bat to the zone well and rarely finds himself out of sync or late in the swing. There is good raw power here too. On the other side of the ball, he has seen time at both third and the outfield with an above-average arm that will play at either third or right, and the overall athleticism allows him to cover plenty of ground on the grass. Oregon State commits, especially those who would be sophomore eligible, are often tough signs, so I wouldn’t be shocked if we don’t hear Porter’s name called despite the fact he is more than good enough to be selected in the top five rounds. | |||||||||||
