| Summary: A big frame with big game experience, Flukey was one of the key arms that saw Coastal Carolina through to the College World Series final. He has a very long arm path, and long levers overall, into a 3/4 to higher slot with good extension and the ball jumps out of his hand.. He can sit 95-98 with a good downhill plane, but the fastball does catch too much of the plate at times. He has a pair of breaking balls, with a gyro slider in the mid 80s and a curveball 75-79 sitting between a 12-6 hammer and one that has a touch more depth. He has a changeup in the mid 80s with solid fade, but he doesn’t use it too much currently. He does have a glove tap in his load in both his windup and stretch, which leaves him rather long to the plate, so controlling the running game is an area he can improve. If he can reel in the command and get more comfortable with the change, he should be able to make it as a starter, otherwise he does have the stuff to be a high leverage reliever. | |||||||||||
