| Summary: One of the few bright spots at Rice in 2025, Brown is a lefthanded hitter now with Tennessee who possesses present strength and more projected to come especially with the strengh program they have in Knoxville. He drives the ball to all fields with above-average raw power, showing the ability to lift and carry it out to either gap. The swing can get long at times, and struggles against spin, but when he stays compact he produces loud contact with a balanced, leveraged stroke. His offensive game is power-driven, with a chance to grow into a middle-of-the-order presence as the approach refines. Defensively, Brown projects best in a corner outfield spot where his above-average arm strength fits cleanly. He moves well enough to handle the position and has the physicality to stick long term. While he’s a legitimate two-way guy with a fastball into the mid-90s and a solid slider, the bat is the carrying tool, and his combination of strength leading to real power from the left side, screams a bat first prospect especially at the next level. | |||||||||||
