| Summary: Blanco’s game is built entirely around his enormous raw power—true 70-grade thunder that produces some of the loudest contact in the Pirates’ system. He can leave any park from foul pole to foul pole, with exit velocities that rank among the best in the minors. The question, as always, is contact. Swing-and-miss remains a defining trait, and while his strikeout rate showed modest improvement in 2024, chase and timing issues still limit how often that power shows up in games. Even so, when he connects, it’s big-league damage. Limited defensively to first base or designated hitter, Blanco’s value will come entirely from the bat. He’s made small strides in pitch recognition and shortening up with two strikes, and if those gains hold, the offensive upside is middle-of-the-order impact. Durability will be key after hamstring problems cut short his 2024 season, but the combination of size, strength, and improving discipline keeps him firmly on the radar as a potential masher whose power alone could carry him to the majors. | |||||||||||
