| Summary: Leffew, a highly regarded southpaw out of Concord North Carolina will make his debut with the Longhorns in 2026 after two seasons at Wake Forrest. Leffew led the Demon Deacons in appearances during the 2025 season posting 59 punch outs over 34.1 innings of work. Leffew issued 18 free passes over those 34.1 innings and has been known to struggle with command at times. He has made adjustments to his delivery, now coming almost completely over the top. The fastball has sat 92-95mph with ride this fall. He complements it with a curveball, slider, and change up. The change up is the intriguing pitch, which induces plenty of swing and miss playing off the fastball. With present size and strength, Leffew could be an impact arm out of the bullpen in Austin and bolster the Longhorns already strong chances to make it Omaha. If the command improves in 2026, look for Leffew’s draft stock to rise. | |||||||||||
