2026 MLB Draft: Gunnar Garrison, RHP, Eaton

Player: Gunnar Garrison
School: Eaton High SchoolPosition(s): RHP
Height: 6’5″Weight: 235 lbs. Bats: Right Throws: Right
Summary:
Eaton High School has a notable history of producing high caliber ball players from a small town in northern Colorado. There is nothing small about Gunnar Garrison, who stands 6’5″, 235 lbs. and is equipped with a fastball reaching 94mph.

In his junior season at Eaton, Garrison logged 64.2 innings while racking up 98k’s in that span. High velocity arms at the high school level are certainly capable of accumulating strikeouts, however, much of the time those K’s are accompanied by walks. Garrison only surrendered 23 BB’s during the 2025 season for the Reds. Though Eaton plays at the 3A level in Colorado, those numbers are impressive regardless of classification. Garrison spent the summer testing his arsenal with Slammers Anderson, traveling the country against some of the top competition in the US.

Mechanically, Garrison works with high tempo from the start with some tilt of the upper half toward second base at the top of his leg lift. At break, the glove swings to the third base side, though he does a good job staying linear to the plate through delivery. The arm speed stays consistent with both fastball and breaking ball.
Garrison has topped 94mph though sits in the 89-92mph range. As Garrison continues to mature, expect these numbers to rise through his senior season. The breaking ball is more of slurve which sits in the 75-78mph range and plays well off the fastball. He flashes a change up as well in the 78-80mph range.
Originally committed to BYU, Garrison has recently signed with Arizona State and will head to the dessert in the fall of 2026.

The physical traits are present for Garrison. He has added clear strength from the end of the high school season through this fall, going from 205-210 lbs. to 235 lbs. in that time. Having not reached his 18th birthday, the upside for Garrison is high. As he continues to grow into his frame and further develop his repertoire, look for Garrison to garner attention from big league clubs as early as this spring.
