Summary:
A Puerto Rican native, Figueroa shows a fast, lively arm with velocity already knocking on the mid-90s and room for more as he continues to mature physically. The fastball comes out clean with deception and a flatter look through the zone, missing bats both at the top rail and when it shows late cut or run. Slot consistency can waver at times, but when the delivery syncs, the heater does most of the damage, producing uncomfortable swings and weak contact. Strike-throwing can run hot and cold, yet the underlying traits — arm speed, extension, and natural life — give him a strong foundation to build from.

The slider is the clear secondary, flashing sharp bite in the low-to-mid-80s and showing chase qualities when he stays on top of it. It plays as a legitimate bat-missing pitch and pairs well off the fastball’s plane. He’ll also mix a bigger curveball and a developing changeup that shows some movement but remains inconsistent; both are clearly works in progress rather than featured weapons right now. In shorter looks, the fastball/slider combination is enough to overwhelm hitters, even when command isn’t perfectly dialed in.

Longer term, the profile leans toward a power relief outcome, though there’s enough feel for shape with the baseball to keep a starter track alive for now. Ease of arm action and the ability to manipulate multiple shapes stand out for his age, even with some delivery and control variance. As he tightens his strike consistency and sharpens the secondaries, Figueroa has a chance to become a very effective right-handed arm, with the fastball quality giving him a clear carrying tool regardless of ultimate role.
