Summary:
After a 2024 season where Snelling’s overall profile took a dip, the delivery was simplified ahead of the 2025 season and the power restored, allowing the heater to again play with carry and late hop at the top of the zone. The strike-throwing foundation never disappeared, but the regained fastball life has made everything else work again, bringing back weak contact and ground-ball traits that defined his early pro success.

The breaking ball mix has also tightened. The curveball has reemerged as a true bat-misser with depth and consistency, while a sweeping slurve and newer gyro-style slider give him multiple looks to disrupt timing and handle left-handed hitters more effectively. The changeup remains the least reliable piece — still a bit firm and inconsistent — but it’s good enough to keep righties honest when located. Overall command and pitchability are again strengths, supported by an up-tempo delivery and an advanced feel for sequencing.

What this ultimately looks like now is a high-floor starter whose ceiling has reopened. The mid-rotation projections cooled during the velocity dip, but the rebound has pushed the profile back toward a legitimate No. 2/No. 3 starter outcome if the fastball shape and breaking-ball consistency hold. Even if the stuff settles a half-step below peak, the strike-throwing, athleticism, and feel for contact management give him a strong chance to contribute meaningful major league innings in the near term.
