Summary:
A deep, secondary-heavy arsenal defines Madden’s profile. The fastball generally works in the mid-90s and has reached the upper-90s at peak, showing some armside life but not consistently missing bats at the rate the velocity might suggest. He works from a higher slot with strong leg drive and good arm speed, repeating the delivery fairly well despite some effort at release. When the heater is located effectively it can still play above average, but it often functions more as a setup pitch for the rest of the mix.

The slider has been the most reliable secondary, flashing plus at times with sharp bite and serving as the primary swing-and-miss offering. Around it sits a wide mix of supporting pitches — cutter, curveball, changeup and splitter — giving him several different shapes and speeds to sequence against hitters. The changeup in particular can show late fade, while the breaking ball mix provides both horizontal and vertical looks, though most of the secondaries play closer to average than dominant.

Command tends to sit around the zone rather than precisely within it, which can push counts deeper when hitters remain patient. Because the profile leans heavily on pitch mix and sequencing rather than one overpowering pitch, the long-term role may settle into a multi-inning relief or swingman type unless either the fastball shape or command takes another step forward.
