| Summary: Kemp, the nephew of former MLB All Star Matt Kemp, is a toolsy outfielder from Choctaw High School. The right hander is equipped with a long lean frame and overall athletic build. Kemp has added muscle this off season though there is still plenty of projection left to be had. At the plate, Kemp starts balanced with hands positioned in line with his back shoulder. He commences a quiet load with hands remaining stationary and a slight stride toward the mound. He shows above average bat speeds and projectable power to the pull side, though he demonstrates the ability to consistently be productive going the other way as well. There’s a lot to like with the simple approach. The hit tool will continue to develop with a high ceiling projected. He has a chance to man centerfield at the next level, running a sub 6.4 60 yd dash, with above average arm strength. Route running and overall IQ will continue to develop. Kemp is a very strong student with a work ethic to match. Committed to the University of Oklahoma, it will be interesting to see if he makes it to campus. Regardless of where he lands in the next six months, a must follow moving forward. | |||||||||||
