Summary:
Fresh off an impressive run as one of the few Italian natives on their WBC roster, Aldegheri is a pitchability lefthander whose value is built on sequencing, feel for mixing speeds and the ability to keep hitters uncomfortable with a full four-pitch mix rather than overpowering anyone. The fastball sits 92-93 and can reach the mid-90s, playing up with decent carry at the top of the zone. The primary weapon is a low-80s slider that generates swing-and-miss, while a changeup at a similar velocity has developed into a reliable option against right-handed hitters. A mid-70s curveball rounds out the mix as a pace-changer and early-count strike-stealer.

The profile lives and dies with the command. When he’s locating the full mix and changing speeds consistently, the sequencing ability is enough to navigate a lineup multiple times and the back-end starter projection holds. When the command wavers and velocity fluctuates, the margin for error tightens quickly and pitches find hittable locations against advanced hitters. A late-season uptick after a difficult stretch earlier in the year showed the ability to reset and execute — the stuff is good enough to hold a rotation spot when the command is where it needs to be after a pair of abbreviated call ups in 2024 and 2025.
