School: USCPosition(s): 1B/3B

Summary:
In an All-Star summer on Cape Cod with the Y-D Red Sox, Dean Carpentier put together a fantastic campaign. He put together great defense at both corners of the infield with solid, consistent offense to play a huge role on a Y-D team that went all the way to the championship.

Offensively, Carpentier possesses good bat-to-ball skills, and can use all of his 6’3” frame to generate good power to all fields. He is an intelligent hitter who has proven that he can hit against the best that college baseball has to offer, posting an OPS over .850 in the CCBL last season.

Defensively, Carpentier stands out at both first and third base. He demonstrates quick, athletic footwork at both positions, and a strong arm that is more than suited for the hot corner. At first, he is able to consistently play the position well and rarely lets a throw past him. He also has great range to both sides, and should be considered a defensive standout.
