| Summary: Few arms in the system bring this kind of depth to the arsenal. A fastball that averages 95 and touches 98-99 with impressive ride that plays especially well at the top of the zone, a mid-to-upper-80s slider with sharp two-plane break as the most consistent and heavily-used secondary, a low-80s curveball with strong vertical depth, and a high-80s cutter that has flashed plus potential with elite whiff rates in limited use — large hands that impart excellent spin across every pitch give the overall mix a breadth and quality that is genuinely difficult to find. A low-effort mid three-quarter delivery with plus arm speed gives the operation an athletic foundation to build from. Command is what separates the outcomes and it defines the ceiling in both directions. Spraying pitches with persistent walk issues has been the pattern throughout his development, and the fastball command in particular is the most critical variable — when it’s located consistently the entire arsenal plays up and the rotation path becomes a real conversation. A meaningful step forward after adding healthy weight to better harness the mechanics was an encouraging development, and the stuff quality buys enough margin to survive imperfect command in relief outings. But another command step is what unlocks the back-end starter projection and pushes the ceiling further. The arsenal is already good enough to carve out a high-leverage multi-inning relief role regardless of where the command lands. The starter path is the higher-upside outcome and a realistic one if the command takes hold — the foundation is clearly there for the stuff to play in a rotation with the right refinements. | |||||||||||
