2026 MLB Draft: Ryan Niedzwiedz, 1B, SIUE

Player: Ryan Niedzwiedz
School: SIUEPosition(s): 1B
Height: 6’2”Weight: 195Bats: LeftThrows: Right
Summary:
One of the premier power bats in the Ohio Valley Conference, Ryan Niedzwiedz had a season to remember for SIUE. He slashed an absurd .351/.427/.768, mashing 27 home runs en route to winning OVC Player of the Year. Niedzwiedz profiles as one of the best mid-major bats out there, finding success at the collegiate level as well as in summer ball.

Offensively, Niedzwiedz absolutely pummels the ball, and has done so at all levels. He has an intelligent feel for the strike zone, striking out only a bit more than he walks. He also stays on the barrel very well, with a compact swing that generates tons of power. Overall, he should be considered an underrated prospect for whenever he declares for the draft.

For Niedzwiedz, the key will be proving that he can replicate his OVC success against higher level pitching. He has shown flashes of just that, as he was a major part of Y-D’s run to the CCBL championship series last summer, but more consistent results will see him continue to rise up draft boards.
