| Summary: The spin capacity and arm speed give Scarborough a more legitimate arsenal than the frame conversation might suggest. The fastball sits 92-96 and touches 97 from a sound, reasonably free delivery — when located at the top of the zone with the right approach angle and IVB it plays as a genuine plus offering, and a sinker variant with additional arm-side tail gives him a second fastball shape to work both sides of the plate. The overall fastball package gives the profile a strong foundation to build the secondary mix around. The cutter is the secondary with the most long-term upside — a low-to-mid-80s offering with considerable depth and gloveside movement that already functions as a barrel-beater and whiff generator out of the same slot as the four-seamer. The shared release point makes it genuinely difficult to differentiate from the fastball until the late movement kicks in, giving it a deception element that elevates the pitch beyond what the raw shape alone would produce. A sweeper generates impressive spin numbers but the arm slot drop to get to it is a mechanical tell that advanced hitters will key on — the underlying supination ability gives the pitch developmental upside if the delivery can be cleaned up. The changeup is the least consistent offering with variable shape and limited feel for landing it competitively. The undersized frame creates the reliever risk that follows the profile, and the starter path will require at least one organization to buy in on the stuff over the size. The back-end starter ceiling is realistic — the advanced control, spin capacity and cutter give the arsenal enough to navigate a lineup when the command is on. The reliever floor is legitimate and comfortable regardless of where the starter path goes. | |||||||||||
