| Summary: Stringer is a late emerging prospect heading into the 2026 draft. A physical right-handed pitcher initially committed to Pearl River Community College, Stringer is now signed with with LSU. His dominant spring for West Marion drew plenty of attention for a player who did not frequent the showcase circuit early in his career. He finished second in the country among prep pitchers logging 202 k’s over 82 innings pitched while only surrendering 28 BB’s. Stringer’s arsenal continues to develop but is anchored by a fastball that has topped 97 mph with above average carry. It comes from an almost completely over the top slot creating deception with good extension down the mound. He compliments it with a true 12/6 curveball in the 78-82 mph range which allows the fastball to play up. He’s mixed in a cutter and a splitter, though they are still developmental pitches to date. The knock on Stringer is that the velocity dips after a few innings in his starts. Despite that fact, the results remain. He pounds the zone and has an affinity for the punch out. There is room for added strength on an already durable frame and he should see additional growth on his off-speed offerings under the right guidance. Whether he lands in Baton Rouge under the tutelage of Nate Yeskie, or ends foregoing the college route, Stringer is a developmental dream. | |||||||||||
