| Summary: Green is not a physically imposing figure on the mound, however the arsenal he deploys will make hitters question whether or not they’d like to have a second look. The right-hander no doubt has electric stuff and long runway of projection. He is an athlete on the bump, with a loose whippy arm action that stays consistent no matter the pitch being thrown. His fastball runs up to 98 mph, though after an inning of work or so, he’ll settle in around 92-94 mph. He shows considerable arm-side-run at times, likely due to his release. Green does fall off to the first base side, with some head and shoulder tilt in the same direction. It has not been an issue to date as command remains a strength. In addition to an electric fastball, he showcases a sharp slider (81-83 mph) with late bite and depth moving away from righties. He’s not afraid to throw this pitch on the back foot to lefties as well. He works with a change-up in the same velocity range as the slider moving away from lefties, killing spin well. Green has been able to use his athletic prowess to dominate at the prep level. There is still a whole lot more left to be had with the prep righty. Physical strength should lead to more body control and a consistent look mechanically. An extremely high ceiling for Green who is committed to the University of Florida. | |||||||||||
