Player: Devlan Daniel
School: Indian Hill (OH)Position(s): OF/RHP
Height: 6’0″Weight: 210 lbs.Bats: SwitchThrows: Right
Summary:

Daniel was a standout OF at the 2026 Area Code Games. The switch-hitting Senior showed exceptional athleticism, hustle, and defensive prowess. There’s plenty of excitement about him as an OF prospect, but he also shows promise on the mound. He’s up to 94 with the fastball paired with some effective offspeed. On top of that, at 6’0” and 210 lbs. Daniel had tons of success as a running back at Indian Hill High School with offers from Top Division I programs.

The raw athleticism and versatility are what really separate him from his peers on the field. I first took notice of him on a play in RF where a base hit to his left should’ve easily moved a runner from 1st to 3rd; however, a rifling one-hop throw from Daniel turned a routine play into a bang-bang call at 3rd base. An impressive arm in the outfield, matched by elite reaction and route-running to cut off balls into the gaps, makes him a supremely talented defensive position player.

Offensively, I really like his versatility as a switch-hitter; it makes him that much more valuable and allows him to use his strength and speed when necessary. Finds high exit velocity out of both swings. Patient approach at the plate with ability to find gaps and move runners rather than create launch angle and slug. Clocked at a 6.53  60-yard dash time, Daniel will surely be a threat on the basepaths and take extra bases when possible.

Daniel is definitely a prospect that gives an organization options for the type of player profile they want to mold out of him. His athletic ability is a great reason to explore the two-way capability as a pitcher and position player. There is potential for him in multiple facets of the game. High upside prospect with a great motor and shows awareness of game situations.
