| Summary: The hit tool is the real deal. Arguelles came into the organization as one of the better-regarded international signings in his class and has done nothing but back up that reputation — near-elite contact rates, an advanced feel for what to swing at, and a left-handed operation that generates hard contact consistently across the field. Evaluators keep landing on the same word when they watch him: pure. The bat-to-ball ability is the kind of foundational tool that profiles at every level and gives the evaluation a carrying piece to build around. The zone recognition is the thing to develop. A tendency to expand and chase when behind in the count is the pattern that needs breaking — not because it creates massive swing-and-miss, but because better recognition of what to lay off would allow the already strong contact skills to operate even more efficiently and make the most of the power he does possess. The swing currently produces more flat, gap-to-gap contact than elevated fly balls, and the frame still has physical development ahead — the combination of approach improvement and added strength gives the power projection a realistic upward path as the career progresses stateside. Center field is home right now and the defensive instincts justify it at this stage. The speed will likely trend the profile toward a corner outfield spot as the frame fills out, and a corner gives the offensive game the right setting to carry the evaluation without the defensive demands getting in the way. The arm plays adequately in either spot. The ceiling runs through how much the power and approach develop together — if both take a step, this is a genuine offensive contributor at the highest level. | |||||||||||
