2027 MLB Draft: Tyler Fryman, OF, Beechwood (KY)

Player: Tyler Fryman
School: Beechwood (KY)Position(s): OF
Height: 6’1″Weight: 180 lbs. Bats: Right Throws: Right
Summary: Fryman is a two-sport standout from Hebron Kentucky. Originally committed to Louisville for baseball, Fryman flipped that commitment in June, choosing the Kentucky Wildcats football program as a 4-star wide receiver. He has every intention of continuing his baseball career for Coach Mingione as well.

Fryman profiles as a prototypical center-fielder, with plus speed, advanced route running, and an arm equipped to get the job done. The set up in the box is neutral with a slight leg lift into load. His hands stay through the zone and has shown the ability to control the barrel in all quadrants. He’s capable of working to all fields with power continuing to develop, especially to the pull side. He led the state of Kentucky in hits (73) in 2026 with 12 of those leaving the yard. Overall its a quiet, repeatable stroke. There is room for additional strength on the frame which no doubt will come considering his path.

It’s a rare feat today to juggle the rigors of playing two Division 1 sports. Fryman is planning to do so in the SEC, which adds a whole other layer of complexity. The athletic prowess is there, with a legitimate run and hit tool on the diamond. Given the raw athleticism and a monster season as a junior, Fryman’s path leading up to the 2027 draft will be an intriguing one to follow. It will more than likely take quite a bit to sway him away from campus with the potential he has on the gridiron in addition to the diamond.
