Summary:
Jones is an electric two-way talent out of Douglasville, Georgia. The term “ballplayer” comes to mind as he has a legitimate chance to effect the game on both sides of the ball at the next level.

On the mound, Jones is an athletic mover flashing multiple arm angles. The fastball has been up to 98 mph, but will settle in 91-94 mph. It works in on righties with considerable arm-side run at times. The breaking ball varies in shape at times but plays mostly like a slider. It does show depth with later diving bite in the low 80’s. The change-up continues to develop and mirrors the fastball shape with arm-side run and sink. Considerable projection remains on the mound.

At the dish, Jones remains athletic, with a short whippy swing showing pull-side pop. He sets up slightly open, striding to center and creates considerable separation. He swings with conviction while maintaining body control. As he fills out and adds strength Jones has a chance to project for plus power.

He has smooth actions on the left side of the infield with the arm to make all of the throws. Jones is a plus runner with above average athleticism and could fit in the outfield at the next level as well. The Alabama commit has the tools on both sides of the ball to project as a pro prospect. The arm and operation on the mound may be to good to pass up should Jones eventually have to choose a discipline.
