| Summary: Cueto has been one of the players with the most buzz coming out of the summer showcase circuit, and the tools back it up. An explosive, easy-mover type in center field, he pairs plus speed with a short, efficient left-handed stroke that finds the barrel with real consistency and stays under control through the swing. The approach is built around staying patient deep into the pitch and directing the ball back up the middle and the other way, a style that’s produced some of the more consistent bat-to-ball performances of anyone in his class — he doesn’t miss much and controls the zone well enough to work deep counts and spoil pitches he isn’t looking to drive. Power remains a projection rather than a present strength, and the report should stay grounded on that point — he doesn’t hit for much game power right now, with more balls staying on the ground than leaving the yard. There’s real bat speed underneath the surface, and a swing change geared toward more loft and pull-side contact could eventually unlock more thump, but as currently built, this is a contact-and-speed profile first, with power as a distant secondary trait rather than a carrying tool. Defensively, the speed translates directly into range in center field, and evaluators have consistently praised the routes and overall instincts out there — a legitimate defensive asset regardless of how the bat develops. The arm grades out as solid enough to round out the profile rather than a separate carrying tool.
