| Summary: At just 15 years and 11 months old, Tomlin IV exhibits extreme physical talent and smooth baseball instincts across all facets of his game. The pedigree is definitely there, as his father played 11 Minor league seasons from 2000-2010. The OF/RHP shows a different level of athleticism, strength, and speed than his class of 2029 counterparts. Entering his Sophomore campaign at St. John Bosco, there is much more to see from him. At 5’11 and 150lbs, Tomlin IV has a lean frame with long, powerful legs that are reminiscent of an Olympic sprinter. Not only is he fast, he runs the bases well with sharp turns and long, explosive strides getting to the bag. Truly moves like an athlete well beyond his years. Defensively, he has smooth and confident glove actions and reads hops well. Clean footwork and long strides give him plus range as an outfielder with an 89mph OF velocity. On the mound, he has topped out at 84mph with an effective slider as the offspeed. In the box, Tomlin IV stands in with his hands cocked high behind his helmet, loads into his back leg with an outstretched toe tap, creating plenty of separation. Great bat speed for his size, with an uphill swing path that he whips to his pull side. Already elite for his age, can see the exit velocity jumping as he matures. Looks comfortable in the box with an aggressive approach, steadily gets to his A swing and finds gaps. Most recently clocked at a 7.06 60 yd dash, we will see Tomlin IV continue to impress with physical ability and on field talent as an OF for years to come. Development of his frame is inevitable, and his athletic ability will only grow as he progresses throughout high school.
