Player: Aiden Sims
School: Texas A&MPosition(s): RHP
Height: 6’2″Weight: 200 lbs. Bats: Right Throws: Right
Summary:
Sims is an intriguing arm out of Texas A&M headed into the 2027 draft. The right-hander made his mark in 2026 compiling 68 innings as a sophomore while only seeing 13 innings as a freshmen in 2025. The 2nd year man ended with an impressive 3.84 ERA, striking out 73 while only allowing 19 BB’s.

He’s a strike thrower with an impressive 3-pitch arsenal. The fastball currently sits in the low 90’s. He’s shown the ability to hold that velocity later in outings and there is reason to believe there is more to come. With a range consistently 91-93 mph, it would not be shocking to see a jump to 92-94mph this spring. Though not an elite fastball, it plays up in large part due to his exceptional secondary offerings. Sims deploys what many characterize as a sweeper spinning upwards of 2800 rpm’s. It lives in the 82-84 mph range and does show depth consistent with a true curveball on occasion. The shape can vary however Sims has feel for it and is able to manipulate it for his purposes. The difference maker is the change-up. A pitch with legitimate depth and arm-side-run, one of the top in its class.

The pure stuff is there. The 6’2″ frame has room for more strength which in turn should equal a few mph’s on the fastball. Should he continue to pound the zone, Sims stock should rise with another year of SEC ball under his belt.
