| Summary: A bit of a surprise to make it to campus, Peterson made 16 starts for the Gators in 2024 with mixed results. He allowed far too many walks, but had a strikeout rate of 11 per 9 innings and flashed elite stuff. He can get the fastball up to 98 with plenty of life to go with a power slider, and a mid 80s change that falls off the table. All three pitches have plus upside and he mixes in an occasional 12-6 curve to go with it. The problems come with the fact he has some effort in the delivery and plenty of short arm in the delivery leading to inconsistent arm slots. Based on pure stuff, there likely isn’t a better arm in the class, but he needs to put it all together to reach his immense potential. | |||||||||||
