2025 MLB Draft: Ryan Prager, LHP, Texas A&M

Player: Ryan Prager
School: Texas A&MPosition(s): LHP
Height: 6’3″Weight: 200 lbs.Bats: LeftThrows: Left
Summary: Selected in the third round, 81st overall, by the Los Angeles Angels in 2024 but made waves when he announced he would be returning to Texas A&M and turning down the Angels’ offer. He is a redshirt Junior this year, after taking a redshirt year in 2023 while recovering from Tommy John surgery, he was a key cog in the rotation for the Aggies on their way to the College World Series final. The fastball won’t light up any radar guns, but he has good extension and carry on the pitch, to go with plus command, making it play well above the radar gun readings. His best pitch is his change that he tunnels perfectly with the fastball, with almost identical shape but 10 MPH slower, leading to a ton of bad swings. He also has a quality two-plane slider that adds depth to the arsenal and keeps hitter’s eyes having to adjust. He will never be an overpowering ace of a big league rotation, but he might have as high a floor as any arm in the class, and would not be shocking to see him among the first of the class to make the bigs.
