| Summary: Shelton set the Alabama freshman home run record with 25 in 2023, then transferred to Florida in 2024 where he hit another 20 long balls and was selected by the Nationals in the 20th round as a draft eligible sophomore a year ago. Returning to school, Shelton looks to shore up some holes in his swing and establish clarity positionally. A college shortstop, the range is fringy as is the arm, so the future could very well be at second base. He obviously has plenty of pop at the dish well where his hands get through the zone well and he turns the hands over really well. The spots he struggles with most are fastballs up and can struggle against spin at times. How much he hits this year will really drive his draft value. | |||||||||||
