| Summary: A draft eligible sophomore, Oliver is one of the more unique evaluations in this class. While he has shown some ability to play short, he is really a second base only profile. His carrying tool is the hit tool, where he has little wasted movement in the swing and he covers the zone really well. While he is a slashing hit over power guy, he has the ability to turn on a ball on the inner third and will get his share of long balls. Like so many, he struggles to recognize spin, but there isn’t a fastball that is too much for him. While the defensive limitations could hurt his draft value, there will be plenty of teams that see a ton of value in the bat and believe he can develop into mid-teen home run power, and that could make him a solid big leaguer in the future. | |||||||||||
