| Summary: Injury will likely keep Stieg out all season, but he has shown big stuff when healthy. His fastball sits 92-95 and has touched 98 with a ton of tail and real sink on the pitch. He has a low-80s sweeper and a change that also sits in the low-80 with fade and late tumble. On the change, he does change the arm slot some closer to sidearm when his other offerings come out of a low 3/4 slot. Despite the loud stuff, he does not miss bats a much as you would expect and an improvement in the whiff rate would have been big in him rising on boards. Another piece of his game that has room for improvement, and was showing promising strides in, was his overall pitchability. He started to show more confidence in his secondary stuff and was commanding all three offerings better before he had to get Tommy John surgery. | |||||||||||
