| Summary: There isn’t a hitter in America or beyond that scared Gaeckle. He has a fastball that sits in the mid-90s and gets up to 98 that will ride in on the hands of righties and really lock them up. He attacks the zone with it too, but his best pitch is a sharp two plane breaking ball that has a spin rate north of 3,000. He snaps it off with plenty of depth sitting between a 1-7 and 2-8 shape with genuine plus to better upside. He showed a change very rarely in high school, but breaks it out more now and it has really improved. It sits in the upper-80s and has good fade. He has a cutter/slider in the low 90s that has shown a ton of potential, but still needs some ironing out. He had TJ back in 2020 and he is an undersized arm with some effort, so there is some long term injury concern, but the stuff is an easy projection to be a starter long term. | |||||||||||
