| Summary: A quality prospect on the mound with a quick arm action and a tailing fastball into the low-90s, but Barnett’s future is at the dish. He has plenty of size and that really translates into genuine power, as he was one of the few to put in triple digit exit velos off the tee at the PG National last summer. It plays in game too and it is an easy swing to get to that power thanks to quick hands rather than a swing that is selling out to get there. Naturally, with a long levered power hitting prepster, there are some real concerns about the hit tool as he will swing-and-miss and get on top of the ball too often. In the field there is a shot he sticks at third where his above-average arm will play, but the actions there are fringy, so there is a pretty good chance he has to move over to first. He is no speedster, but there are some scouts who believe he can transition into the outfield but, regardless of the position he ultimately plays, the massive power potential is what you are getting here. | |||||||||||
