| Summary: A big frame already, there is still a ton of projectability left in Wheeler’s frame. That big body does get the better of him at times, as the arm can lag behind the rest of the body in his delivery, causing him to miss arm side with some frequency, but that is something that will certainly be ironed out in time. Despite this, he does do a good job of keeping the ball in the zone most days, it is just more control over command currently. The fastball sits 90-92 with mid-90s future written all over him, and a slider that projects as at least average if not better in the 77-80 range. The operation itself is loose and controlled so that he repeats well for the most part, firing out of a 3/4 arm slot. The ceiling here is immense, and the summer showcase circuit could lead to him being one of the top arms in the draft come 2026. | |||||||||||
