| Summary: A current shortstop, there is a good chance the future for West is either at second or third base. He does have good hands and a strong arm, so he can be at least an average defender at either spot long term. He has an open stance with loose hands that lead to good bat speed through the zone and some real raw power in the profile. There isn’t a ton of projectability left in the frame, as he added a ton of physicality entering last year, but there is still upside as he learns to maximize the power he does have in the frame. The hit tool is certainly behind the power and his approach needs fine tuning, but a solid defender in the dirt with real pop in the bat is certainly something that can play at the next level. | |||||||||||
