| Summary: A rare mid-major to mid major draft eligible sophomore with genuine draft upside, McCombs spent his freshman year at San Diego State before heading north to UC Irvine. He stands tall in the box and lets his hands drift in his load before firing with an uphill bat plane that allows him to lift the ball, especially to the pull side where he has above-average power. The contact skills are solid despite the busy load and heavy plane, giving him a good, well-rounded offensive profile. He has good speed that allows him to play center now, but there is still physical projection here which may move him to a corner. That corner would likely be right where another above average tool, his arm, plays well. He is a five tool talent with potential 50s across the board and a few tools with 55 upside. | |||||||||||
