| Summary: Tilly was ranked 163 for my in the 2023 draft coming out of Castle HS in Indiana but he chose to attend Auburn knowing he would be a draft eligible sophomore in 2025. While the stuff has improved, he hasn’t taken the steps many expected as he still really struggles with command and he has been unable to establish himself as a starter, instead he is a quality bullpen arm with four pitches. The fastball sits around 93 but has been up to 97 in the past and has plenty of carry on the pitch. The slider can spin at over 3,000 rpm with a ton of sweep and he has a big curve that has really flashed in the past. He also mixes in a splitter with plenty of drop. There were some signs late in the season the control was improving, but it was not enough of a sample size to be reliable. Some teams will see him as a pure reliever and value him as much, others still think he is a guy worthy of rolling out as a starter to start his career, while some feel heading back to campus and trying to make the Auburn rotation is the best path. Because of this, the range of outcomes for Tilly is as wide as anyone in the class. | |||||||||||
