| Summary: Renfrow found himself in the rotation for Virginia Tech right from the jump and has been remarkably consistent. In 2024 and 2025 he started 15 games each year, pitched 75 and 74 innings respectively, allowed 72 hits and 32 free passes vs. 78 and 34 while improving his strikeouts from 78 to 84. One thing that really did improve in 2025 were his runs allowed, going from an ERA of 4.92 to 3.89. The biggest factor in the improved ability to prevent runs was reducing his HR/9 given up from 1.6 to 0.9. The stuff took a step forward as well, going from sitting 90-94 to sitting 93-96 with a lively fastball from a high 3/4 slot after an old school overhead windup. His change has real fade in the mid 80s while he has plenty of two plane action on a slider also in the mid 80s. He will likely be the Friday night guy again for Virginia Tech in 2026, and could very well establish himself as one of the more reliable and higher floor arms in the 2026 class. | |||||||||||
