2026 MLB Draft: Roch Cholowsky, SS, UCLA

Player: Roch Cholowsky
School: UCLAPosition(s): SS
Height: 6’2″Weight: 200 lbs.Bats: RightThrows: Right
Summary: Cholowsky is one of the premier defenders in the 2026 class, flashing smooth actions, advanced body control, and a polished internal clock. He plays with balance and ease, showing soft hands, quick transitions, and the arm strength to deliver accurate throws from every angle. His range and instincts allow him to cover ground to both sides, and the glove already grades among the best nationally. He projects as a true shortstop at the next level with little doubt about his ability to stick. Offensively, Cholowsky shows plus bat-to-ball skills with a rhythmic stroke and a barrel tip that generates whip through the zone. The swing is pull-heavy but comes with legitimate bat speed, sound swing decisions, and the ability to square up quality arms. Power is still developing, but the raw pop is certainly there. By all accounts he has plus makeup and he was arguably the best player in college baseball in 2025 (got my vote for the Dick Howser Trophy) and could very well go 1-1 in July.
