Summary:
CJ Sampson of Tomball Texas is a true two-way prospect that helped lead Team USA 18U to a World Championship this fall. Sampson has present size and strength, listed at 6’3″, 220 lbs. Swinging from the left side, Sampson has a smooth, methodical approach. The barrel stays through the zone for a long period of time and delivers power to all fields. The lefty creates controlled separation to induce that power.

On the mound, Sampson (RHP) has a similar approach with a repeatable delivery that produces four pitches consistently in the zone. The righty threw a 5 inning complete game against China in the World Championships for Team USA, logging 58 pitches, 48 of which were strikes.

Sampson is committed to the University of Florida, set to arrive in the fall of 2026. His ability to contribute at multiple positions could prove valuable for the Gators. With the physical attributes there, as Sampson matures he could find himself high on draft boards come July.
