| Summary: Caminiti’s appeal starts with pure athleticism and a loose, lively arm that already produces big stuff for his age. Working almost exclusively from the stretch, he repeats a high leg kick with surprising balance and creates tough angle from a low-to-high three-quarters slot. The fastball sits in the mid-90s and can touch the upper band with late life, riding at the top of the zone and sneaking through barrels thanks to natural deception. As he’s refined the four-seam grip and lowered the slot, the pitch has taken on even more carry, and the strike throwing in Low-A showed the kind of foundation that can support a starter’s workload long-term. The breaking ball mix is deep and still sharpening. He’ll flash two distinct shapes: a bigger, upper-70s curveball with real depth and a low-80s slider/sweeper that shows both ride and sweep when he finishes it. Consistency wavers—common for a reclassified prep arm—but the raw traits are there for at least one plus breaking pitch as the feel tightens. The changeup took a meaningful step forward in 2024–25, showing chase characteristics and occasional splitter-like action in the mid-80s, though command remains scattered. With time and reps, the pitch has above-average projection and could become a real equalizer against right-handed hitters. Caminiti missed time with forearm soreness but returned to dominate Low-A on the strength of athletic strike throwing and fastball-heavy sequencing. With projection left in the frame, improving timing, and a deepening arsenal, he fits the mold of a high-ceiling left-handed starter—one with mid-rotation traits now and room for more if the command and consistency of his secondaries catch up.
