Summary:
Long-levered, 6’6” lefties aren’t supposed to repeat as cleanly as Bennett does despite the heavy body lean, and that delivery stability shows up in how he sequences and lives in the zone. Back healthy and carrying firmer velocity, he’s once again working comfortably in the 92–94 mph band with reach-back to 96, leveraging plus extension and natural arm-side run to help the fastball play above the raw velo. The changeup remains his signature pitch—thrown with full arm speed in the mid-80s, featuring late dip and the consistency to use it in any count. Both breaking balls show utility, but the slider, a mid-80s two-plane sweeper with late finish, has the best chance to become his primary bat-miss option as he continues to regain feel post-TJ.

Bennett attacks both sides of the plate with confidence, keeping hitters off barrels with early-count changeups, and leans on sequencing rather than pure stuff to work deep into outings. His sinker/cutter variations add layers to the mix, and everything plays up when the delivery stays synced. Post-injury command wavered early, but the underlying track record suggests it will continue trending back toward form as reps accumulate.

With his size, efficiency, and starter’s heartbeat, Bennett fits neatly as near-ready rotation depth who could settle into a stable No. 4/5 role in short order. If the slider sharpens into a consistent chase pitch and the velocity bump holds, there’s room for him to climb higher, but even the median outcome is that of a reliable innings-eating lefty whose pitchability gives him a clear pathway to an early MLB impact.
