| Summary: McAdoo brings a loud, strength-driven offensive look built around plus bat speed, real raw power, and the kind of impact contact that jumps off the bat when the swing syncs. I have been a fan of his since San Jose State where the ball jumped when he gets the barrel out front. But that same violence and stiffness in the move also show up in the contact profile. His swing decisions run fringe-average, he can get overly passive on hittable strikes, and velocity above the belt continues to expose him. With contact projection sitting below average unless the swing tightens, the offensive bar he must clear is high. The power, though, is legitimate enough to buy belief. Natural loft, strong hands, and mature strength give him the ingredients for a 20+ HR bat if he starts driving the ball in the air more consistently. He’s handled spin and offspeed well in stretches, but the key will be proving he can keep the zone tight and get to his impact against better velocity. Without that, the profile risks slipping into the bat-only bucket — one where the raw impact is tempting, but the path narrows quickly. Defensively, things remain unsettled. Third base has never looked completely natural and even with arm strength, the consistency isn’t there. As a pro he has bounced between third, second, first, and outfield, but none project as clear fits beyond a corner look. He’s a fringe runner with some feel on the bases, but his value is going to have to come from the bat. With more consistent lift and better in-zone aggression, he has a shot to break through as a power-driven corner option. Without those adjustments, he profiles as a depth piece whose impact depends almost entirely on the slug. | |||||||||||
